Alright, are we ready to go guys? Yes, let's do it. So the first slushy I'm going to show you how to make is layered and beautiful. It has two layers
0:11
The first layer has white wine. This is our white wine slushy
0:17
So once again, if you don't drink wine or you don't drink alcohol, totally fine. A grape juice would work really well. You could like cold press apple juice. You could cold press any of your own juices or buy good quality organic juice
0:29
juices to use instead, or you could just use a little bit of juice and a little bit of water
0:35
But I'm going to put in some white wine here. A little bit more
0:45
And this is a pinot grigio, by the way, but you know, any of your favorite white wine
0:50
will work well. Something a bit more on the sweet side will work really well
0:54
And whenever I'm blending things that are frozen and chunky, I always like to add my liquid
0:59
first. Definitely makes it blend better. And to this I'm going to add frozen peaches. So these
1:07
are going to go in. Dun-da-da-da-da-da-done. Do we have any questions? I think we do
1:14
Yep, we have one question from Julie who says, what kind or does kind of wine matter? Which are you
1:21
using? Great question Julie. So this one that I'm using now, the white wine is a pinot grigio. I just really
1:29
like pino grigios and so that's why I'm using this one. It doesn't really matter
1:34
If you don't like things that are super sweet, maybe lean towards more of a dry wine
1:39
However, if you like things that are more on the sweet side, then something a little bit on the sweeter side would work well
1:45
So really it's just personal preference. And also you could just do whatever you have in your cupboard works well too
1:52
If you have like half a bottle of wine left over, you could do that
1:55
All right, so I'm going to blend this together now. I feel
2:13
I feel like this needs more fruit because I added a lot of wine
2:17
I guess I was getting really excited. So I'll be right back. I'm just going to get some more fruit
2:21
Hold on. Here I come. See, this is the beauty of doing a live show
2:29
You can just be like, I'm just gonna go grab something and I'll be right back
2:34
Any questions? Yes. We have one question from Neira who asks, are fruits fresh or from a can
2:42
Are fruits fresh or from a can? These fruits are neither. They're frozen
2:49
So when you're making this type of thing, you can use. fresh fruit for sure if you have fresh seasonal fruit and we're starting to move
2:57
into summertime so more and more there'll be lots of juicy ripe fresh fruit
3:03
that would work perfectly for this then I would say to turn it into a slushy
3:07
just add some ice if you're using fresh fruit I don't like using canned fruit
3:12
because there's usually sugars and syrups added to canned fruit so I would say
3:15
step away from the canned fruit go for fresh and add ice or just go for frozen and then you don have to add ice So I going to give this another blend Beautiful
3:39
That's the slushy check texture I'm looking for. So this is layer one of our slushy
3:44
I'm going to place these glasses down here and I'm going to pour it so you can see what this looks
3:49
like, all right? Layer one, slushy beautifulness
3:58
Gorgeous, just gorgeous. Okay, so simple, I mean, that was two ingredients, so really simple
4:09
And now I'm going to give my blender a quick rinse because I'm going to show you layer two
4:17
now. Okay. So these are like, you know bellini's, peach bellini's? This kind of
4:25
reminds me of a peach bellini because you're going to have two beautiful layers and oh it's going to be beautiful. Layer two. Grab your wine once again this is a pinogrigio
4:34
but use whatever you have on hand or whatever you like. I'm going to pour that in there
4:40
and add your strawberries. So I'm using strawberries but I think something
4:47
Anything red would work nicely. So raspberries would work nicely. Cherries would work really well
4:52
Any berries would look beautiful. But today we're doing strawberries. All right, here we go
4:57
Okay, let's slow. Okay. Okay, so
5:18
So, oh, la, are you ready to see the layers? Strawberry, white wine, here we go. Beautiful
5:33
Kind of fizzy, effervescent, gorgeous. It also happens to smell really, really nice
5:45
Pop the straws in just like that. I like to give it a little bit of a mix
5:50
Let the colors just kind of bleed into each other. I mean, that's pretty fun, right
5:56
Yes, totally. Okay. Now I'm going to rinse this out again and show you how to make wine flushesher
6:02
number two. Okay, guys, thumbs up if you like these slushies because they just look amazing
6:20
Okay, wine slushy number two, just as simple, just as easy. I'm going to take some orange juice and I'm going to pour it into my blender
6:30
So once again, I like doing liquid first. I find that it really helps frozen fruit to blend really well
6:39
And I'm using a Cabernet Sauvignon for this one, but you can use any red wine that you
6:43
have on hand or your favorite red wine whatever you like So I going to add a little bit of red wine and a little bit more because we have a lot of berries to blend Any questions I think we have another question Yep
6:57
Roger wants to know what was in the first layer? Of this one, the orange layer
7:02
The first layer was peach, frozen peach slices and white wine and I used a pinot
7:08
grigio. Thanks for a question, Roger. But I was saying you could use anything, any, like
7:13
Like mango would work really well too. So this next one is our sangria slushy
7:20
So I just added frozen mixed berries. These ones happen to have blackberries, cherries, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries
7:28
You know you can buy those packages of frozen mixed berries. And I love them and I love frozen cherries
7:35
They happen to be my favorite. So I'm using those. I think for the sangria one because we're using a red wine, try to go for darker colored
7:42
berry colored fruit, whatever you're using, like plums would work really well
7:46
I don't know, you can get really creative. And I'm mixing this just with orange juice and red wine
7:52
And the red wine that I'm using is a cabernet so vignal. But like I said before, whatever you have on hand works, the frozen berries will give it
7:59
that slushy like texture and we're going to blend. Oh, gorgeous
8:29
I just can't help how much fun I'm having with these slushies
8:36
Okay, Sangria slushy. Look at that dark, dark berry color. So pretty
8:46
And let's not forget about the antioxidant content. There is virotrol, which is an antioxidant found in red wine
8:52
And the antioxidants, like the anthocyanins and all the other amazing antioxidants found in pigmented berries
9:00
Put that there. And last but not least, the straws. Gotta have the straws for the final finish
9:07
Oh, yes, another question. Orrin wants to know, do I need a special blender for this
9:15
No, I don't think you do. So this one's like, you know, they're the standing up blenders like this and then they're
9:21
the ones that you flip over like the magic bullets or the neutral bullets
9:25
I've never made this with the magic bullets or neutral bullets, but I think it should work totally fine in those ones
9:30
So I would say any blender should work really well. Just make sure it's big enough to handle this amount of
9:37
of ingredients and you should be totally fine. Don't use a hand blender, that won't work
9:42
Like you know those immersion blenders, that wouldn't work. You could maybe even do this in a food processor
9:48
If you don't have a blender, just make sure you don't add too much liquid because then it'll go over the edges
9:52
But yeah, any blender should work really well for this. Any other questions as we're going
9:58
Not so far. Not so far. Guys, are you enjoying this? I mean, I don't know
10:03
Summertime's here and all of the recipes I leaning towards right now are chilled cold beautiful brightly color recipes that incorporate fruits and fresh things And so this is just so lovely
10:18
I'm going to try the sangria one. Do you see how thick this is? It's like the perfect slushy texture, which makes me so happy
10:24
Oh my god. It tastes exactly like sangria. You know it would be really good as I sip on this now
10:36
I feel like if you topped it off with the little. little splash of sparkling water and it gave it a little fizzy action
10:44
Mmm, the berries, the orange juice. You don't even taste the red wine which is actually a little dangerous
10:52
You don't taste it at all. It just tastes like delicious, fruity refreshingness
10:59
And now for this one, which I just love, don't you just love the layers of colors
11:07
Oh my gosh, that's so good. You know what I taste the most with that one is the peach
11:12
That really, I think I need to call that a peach bellini. It totally tastes like a peach bellini with a hint of strawberry and then the white wine
11:20
just is like a little under note, but they're chilled and they're really refreshing
11:24
so good. Any other questions guys or comments, type them into the box so we can chat before we end this
11:31
one, yeah? Julie says so beautiful, I'm going to make these to sit by the pool this summer for sure
11:37
Julie, can I come over to your pool and can we sit together
11:40
Because that's exactly what I want to all bring the slushies, you provide the pool
11:46
That's what you need to do when you drink these. Yeah. And then Ken Lee says, what are the measurements for what you used
11:53
So the measurement, we will be posting a link to the recipe shortly so check back soon and we'll have a link to the recipe here
12:01
But it's half a cup of the, for the Bellini ones, it's half a cup
12:06
ones, it's half a cup of frozen peaches and half a cup of strawberries mixed with half
12:12
a cup of wine for each one. So in total you'll need one cup of white wine and then a half a cup of peaches and half
12:18
a cup of strawberries. And then for the sangria, it's one cup of frozen mixed berries and then I don't know
12:27
For the wine, we'll give you the exact measurement. I eyeballed it right now
12:31
You just kind of pour it on top so it's not too much. You don't want it to be too thin
12:35
You want it to be nice and thick. So it's probably about three quarters of a cup of red wine and then a splash of orange juice
12:43
That's it. Any other questions? All I want to do is drink these because they're so good
12:50
Okay guys, thank you so much for watching. I hope you love these recipes
12:54
We're going to be posting a link to the recipe shortly so don't forget to check back here
12:59
on the Hardy Soul. And let's all do what Julie's going to do and find a pool and drink our..
13:05
amazing slushy wine slushies. As I mentioned, you can do it with or without the wine
13:12
That's totally up to you, but they're quick and easy and have a great day
13:16
